ABOUT JO ROLAND
MY MUSE
I was born and raised in the northeast United States. As the daughter of first generation Americans, I realized the power words held. Though I trained in photographic arts and education, the written word has consistently been one of my passions.
My first published work was a poem for NEW TEACHER ADVOCATE. Since then, I have journaled with my students in the classroom and with my own children in our homeschool. Based on that experience, I published a manual on homeschooling entitled THE EMPOWERED HOMESCHOOL.
I'm a contributing author in THIS IS MY STORY, an annual publication from CenterPointe Church.
I've recently dipped into the world of short stories, and was published in the anthologies ADVERSITY and ODYSSEY from Space Coast Writer's Guild.
My fictional debut, REDEMPTION BEACH, was the first novel in the
REDEMPTION CHRONICLES series and released in October 2022.
REDEMPTION SKY is the second novel in this series, released in July 2024, with more to come. In 2025, the SPACE COAST WRITER'S GUILD presented me with the DON ARGO AWARD for best fiction novel set in Florida for REDEMPTION SKY. I am so honored!
MY WORK
REDEMPTION BEACH and REDEMPTION SKY are the first two installments of the
REDEMPTION CHRONICLES.
The vision of this series is that the stories will be lightly related, but not so much that they need to be read in any specific order. I'm enjoying adding character background which connects storylines with fun "Easter eggs." Life happens, and everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, the situations we find ourselves in require a touch of the supernatural with a sprinkle of redemption on top. In order to grow, we must EMBRACE THE SPARK™🌟

I started my publishing life under the name T.J. Puritz. In late 2024, I decided to re-brand myself. You may have copies of my first two novels under this previous author name. Rest assured, it is the same story content. Lesson to be learned: when you pick a pen name, be sure you're happy with it the first time around!
